Short version

Recallr does not collect, transmit, or sell any of your data. Everything it syncs from your chats stays on your own device, in your browser’s local storage. There is no server, no analytics, and no third party involved.

What Recallr does

Recallr is a browser extension that adds full-text search across your claude.ai chat history, and lets you export any single chat to Markdown or PDF.

What data it touches, and where it goes

• Your chats: Recallr reads your conversations directly from claude.ai, using your own logged-in browser session — the same way claude.ai itself loads them for you. It then stores a local copy (titles, messages, and a search index) in your browser’s IndexedDB storage, on your device only.
• Network requests: the only requests Recallr makes are to claude.ai, to read your own conversation list and messages so it can sync and search them. Recallr never sends your chats, search queries, or any other data to Recallr’s developer or to any third party. There is no analytics or telemetry of any kind.
• Search: search runs entirely inside your browser, against the local copy described above. No query ever leaves your device.
• Export: Markdown and PDF exports are generated locally and saved to your own device. Nothing is uploaded anywhere.
• Debug log: if a sync request fails, Recallr records the error code, endpoint, and HTTP status in a small local log so you can troubleshoot it yourself (via the “Copy debug log” button). This log never includes your message text, and it never leaves your browser unless you choose to copy and share it.

Permissions, explained

• storage / unlimitedStorage: used to keep your synced chats and search index in your browser’s local database. Without it, Recallr couldn’t remember anything between visits.
• Access to claude.ai: required so Recallr can read your conversations while you’re signed in, directly in your browser. Recallr cannot see or act on any other website.

Removing your data

Uninstalling Recallr removes its local database, deleting every chat it had synced. You can also clear it at any time via Chrome’s own site data settings for the extension.

Changes to this policy

If Recallr’s data practices ever change, this document will be updated before that change ships, and the update will describe exactly what changed and why.
